New Proposed Legislation for the NM Bee Act
As many of you are probably aware the NMBKA is working with the NM Department of agriculture in order to draft a newly proposed NM Bee act. While the details of what will happen are still pending here is a schedule of what needs to be done in order to submit the bill for legislation.
- We will provide them any support or guidance they request.
- the need to identify someone from the legislature to “carry” the bill.
- they need to sit down with that person and go over it with them.
- the legislator will do the rest after he/she agrees to submit the bill.
- earlier the submission, the better chance it has to be heard.
- typical deadline for bill submission will probably be within the 1st week of the legislative session

They exist to aid in the collection of information from government organizations, academia, wildlife rehabilitation centers, conservation societies, and beekeepers.
